Having spent his childhood in the South Bronx, Charles Blount knows both struggle and survival. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from Virginia Intermont College in 1997, Mr. Blount has dedicated over 20 years to improving the lives of children in Western North Carolina. Through his work and with the support of his extended family, he was inspired to begin his writing career. In 2010, he released his debut novel, Whatever Happened to Charlie Boy, which is based on his own life. He later released two memoirs: Daddyhood: Being a Daddy and Not Just a Father and Purpose: A Journey to Wisdom. Mr. Blount plans to continue writing messages of hope. He currently resides in mountainous Asheville, North Carolina with his family and labradoodle, Marley.
